Three Sri Lankan paddlers, Hansani Kapugeekiyana, Imesh Ranasinghe and Rohan Sirisena, won their Group stage at the Commonwealth Games 2018 today (10).
Kapugeekiyana beat Pakistan's Hareem Ali 4-0, in sets of 11-3, 11-3, 11-6 and 11-8, and will meet Canadian Justina Yeung in Women's Singles Group 10 later today at 3.50pm, Sri Lanka time.
In a Men's Group 12 match Ranasinghe beat Andre Mitchell St. Vincent and the Grenadines 4-0 (11-1, 11-2, 11-5, 11-4) while from Group 15, Sirisena defeated Adrian Rollins of The Bahamas 4-0 (11-3, 11-2, 11-4, 11-6).
Ranasinghe will meet Owen Cathcart of Northern Ireland while Sirisena will take on Ham Lulu of Vanuatu in their respective Group matches later today.
