Dimuth Karunaratne has been appointed as the captain of the Sri Lankan team for the upcoming cricket world cup, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said.
Karunaratne's appointment by the national selectors was approved by Sports Minister Harin Fernando, the local cricketing body noted.
