The 37th annual Seven-a-side Football Tournament organised by the Mercantile Football Association (MFA) will take place on Sunday (24) at the CR and FC ground at Longdon Place in Colombo.
A total of 24 teams will take part at the competition where the first round will be played on a league basis.
From the quarter-finals the tournament will be played on knockout basis.
Trophies, medals and certificates are on offer for the champions and runner-ups.
The matches will be officiated by referees graded by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
