Nirmal Hettiarachchi will meet Sudath Kumar in the final of the Pin Fernando Trophy at the Royal Colombo Golf Club at 1.00pm today (29).
Top Seed Nirmal beat Lalith Rohith 2 and 1 in a close battle in the first semi-final while in the second qualifier Sudath beat Janaka Tebuwana comfortably 4 and 3.
Meanwhile young Iman Sangani receiving 16 strokes from Jackie Dias produced many pars to overcome the more experienced Jackie 2 and 1 in the final to capture the Pam Fernando Trophy.
The awards ceremony will be held after the Pin Fernando Trophy final at 4.00pm.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
