The juniors at Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) dominated the National Junior Golf Rankings according to an announcement made by Sri Lanka Golf Union (SLGU).
The RCGC juniors dominated in all four divisions namely Gold, Silver, Bronze and Copper where golfers are categorised according to age levels.
RCGC golfers Vinod Weerasinghe topped the Gold Division with 1225 points while Kayla Perera (1175 points), Nirekh Tejwani (1225 points) and Shanal Binuksha (975 points) dominated the Silver, Bronze and Copper divisions respectively.
Three main junior events of the annual SLGU calendar -- Sri Lanka Junior Open, Prima Regional Junior Open in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya and the qualifying round of the Rukmini Kodagoda Match Play Championship were considered for National Rankings.
Final Junior Golf Rankings for 2016:
Gold Division (14 to 17 years): 1. Vinod Weerasinghe (RCGC - 225 points), 2. Armand Flamer Caldera (RCGC - 1200 points), 3. Taniya Balasuriya (RCGC - 1050 points), 4. P.A. Dimuthu (VGCR - 250 points), 5. Jithma Chamindri (RCGC - 208 points)
Silver Division (12 to 14 years): 1. Kayla Perera (RCGC - 1175 points), 2. S. Duwarshan (NEGC- 1025 points), 3. Dilshan Malinda (RCGC - 925 points), 4. S. Sanju (RCGC - 700 points), 5. Levon Niyarepola (RCGC - 675 points)
Bronze Division (10 to 12 years): 1. Nirekh Tejwani (RCGC - 1225 points), 2. Yannik Kumara (RCGC -1150 points), 3. Sherin Balasuriya (RCGC - 1075 points), 4. K. Danushan (RCGC -1000 points), 5. Pranav Muralidharan (RCGC - 500 points)
Copper Division (Below 9 years): 1. Shanal Binuksha (RCGC - 975 points), 2. Kvahn Tejwani (RCGC - 925 points), 3. Musa Shariff (VGCR - 725 points), 4. Shenuk Fernando (RCGC - 650 points), 5. C. Dharanian (NEGC - 625 points)
