Kingswood College and Seethadevi Girls' School won the Boys' and Girls' championships respectively at the Kandy District Hockey Championships ended at the Peradeniya University ground on Monday (6).
Kingswood beat Trinity College 4-2 in the Boys' Under-19 final after leading 2-1 at halftime.
For Kingswood midfielder Chandeepa Ananda and skipper Ashen Hansaka scored twice each.
Vidyartha College won the third place playoff beating Sri Sumangala College 1-0.
In the Girls' Under-19 final Seethadevi SG beat St. Anthony's Girls' School 1-0 after a tight battle.
Striker Charuka Nishadi scored the solitary goal in the match for the winners.
The third place playoff was won by Swarnamali Girls' School, who overcame Hemamali Girls' School.
This annual tournament, organised by the Kandy District Hockey Association, was conducted on June 2, 3, and 6 with the participation of 18 schools from the district.
