The Royal College won the Western Province Under-18 Hockey championship for the third year running after beating Nalanda College in the final at Royal College grounds. Royal edged out Nalanda by 4-3 in penalty shootouts after the closely contested final ended in a 2-2 draw. The defending champions Royal remained unbeaten throughout the championship. They edged Ananda College by 1-0 in the semi-final after beating Maris Stella College Negombo 1-0 in the quarter-final.
