Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bagged six wickets as Sri Lanka were skittled out for 183 runs in the first Test against India which began at the Galle International Stadium today (12). Electing to bat first Sri Lanka lost wickets at quick sessions until skipper Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal gave their side some solace with useful knocks. Mathews top scored for Sri Lanka with a 92-ball knock of 64 inclusive of six fours and a six and Chandimal made 59 off 77 deliveries inclusive of seven fours. Coming down the order Rangana Herath made a quick knock of 23 off 24 deliveries inclusive of four boundaries. Ashwin claimed top six wickets, inclusive of that of Kumar Sangakkara, who is making his final Test appearance in Galle.
