Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) will be this year's sponsors of the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) Annual Open Cricket 'Sixes' 2017.
The tournament, to be held during the August 5-6 weekend, with nearly 60 top Mercantile teams in the fray, will be conducted in 2 segments – Tier 'A' for the MCA Premier League, 'B' and 'C' Divisions on turf and Tier 'B' for Divisions 'D', 'E', 'F' and 'G', on matting.
On Day 1, Saturday, the Matches on Turf (MoT) will be played at the P. Sara Oval and the Matches on Matting (MoM) at MCA, Thurstan, Wesley and Mattegoda, simultaneously, commencing at 8.30am.
On Day 2, Sunday, the MoT from the quarterfinals onwards will be played at the MCA and the MoM played at Thurstan and Wesley, simultaneously commencing at 9.00am.
Both finals will be played at the MCA. The two 'Matting" finalists from the Thurstan and Wesley finals will play their final at the MCA.
The five Special awards on offer are: Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Highest Number of Sixes, Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament.
The presentation of the Official Sponsorshiptook place on Wednesday (26) at the MCA Fine Dining Restaurant, between CDB Deputy CEO-Director-CFO Damith Thennakoon and MCA Senior Vice President Roshan Iddamalgoda.
Also present from CDB were Director-Chief Credit Officer Sasindra Munasinghe, Senior Asst. General Manager (Marketing) Darshana Jayasinghe, with MCA Gen.Sec., Nalin Wickremasinghe and MCA Secretary-Tournament Committee, Tarindra Kaluperuma.
