MCA Cricket: NTB 'A', SCB unbeaten Division 'C' Group leaders

Nations Trust Bank (NTB) 'A' of Group 'A', and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) of Group 'B' completed their quota of 4 matches on an unbeaten note, thus finishing as Group leaders in the ongoing 'BMW-Hyundai' Trophy, MCA 'C' Div. 50-Over League Tournament 2017, continued last weekend. 

In the Preliminary Round, NTB 'A' scored 2 comfortable wins, beating Colombo Dockyard Ltd (CDL) by 5 wickets and Commercial Leasing Co. (CLC) by the same margin, while SCB was stretched by People Leasing Co. (PLC), before winning by 4 runs. 

Debutants, DHT Cement secured a berth in the final round in Group 'B', with a comprehensive 10-wickets win over Airport & Aviation (A&A), who succumbed to their 4th successive defeat. 

Match-winners for DHT Cement (DHT) were Kavindu Bandara with an inspired spell of 7.1-27-5 and an unfinished opening stand between S. Godamanne (59 n.o.) and Malith Peiris (71 n.o. in 69 balls, with 4 sixes and 8 fours).

The tournament will be continued today with the only remaining League match between J.L. Morrisons and People's Leasing Co. (Group 'B').
