Unbeaten Hatton National Bank (HNB) regained the National Netball Championship when they defeated Sri Lanka Air Force SC 47-27 in the final encounter worked off at the Albert F. Peiris Stadium in Wennappuwa on Saturday (8).
The League Tournament was conducted by the Sri Lanka Netball Federation and was sponsored by Dialog Axiata PLC.
HNB had an anxious start to the final when they were stretched to the maximum by their opponents before pulling off the first quarter 10-7 in a thriller.
However, thereafter they dominated the proceedings and went on to clinch the second quarter 12-7 and the third quarter 13-7 respectively.
HNB then completely rattled their opponents in the fourth and final quarter where they triumphed by a convincing margin of 12-6 to emerge champions.
HNB, on their way into the final had the better of Seylan Bank 59-45, Air Force 51-47 and Army SC 55-45 respectively.
The last year champions Seylan Bank had to be content with the third place when they received a walk over from Army SC in the consolation final.
