CR and FC survived the scare of an obvious defeat as they thrillingly overcame Army SC by 25-24 in a first round match of the Dialog Division 'A' League Rugby Championship 2016 played at Racecourse ground on Sunday (6).
The match was marred by decisions given by the referee Dinka Peiris, who disallowed two controversial tries of the Soldiers as CR and FC went on to record a close one-point win scoring three tries, two conversions and two penalties.
The winners led the halftime by 7-3.
Army scored from three converted tries and a penalty.
