After dominating the first session and facing a tough resistant in the turnaround, Navy SC overcame Army SC as they won the Dialog Clifford Cup Knockout Championship quarterfinal battle by 35-25 at the Racecourse ground on Sunday (19).
With the win Navy SC sealed their place in the Dialog Clifford Cup semi-final and they will Havelocks SC on Thursday (23) at the Racecourse in Colombo.
The Sailors collected their points through five converted tries while leading the halftime by a commanding 28-3.
Despite playing poorly, the Soldiers bounced back in the second half to scare their opponents but ended up in the losing end with a tally of three tries, two conversions and two penalties.
