Lahiru Thirimanne, who was named as a last minute inclusion for Sri Lanka's upcoming tour to England flew one day after the team left today (5) with team official Dupil Samarasekara according to a press release issued by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
"Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to state that, Lahiru Thirimanne's Irish visa has been received by SLC. He and Computer Analyst Dulip Samarasekara will depart for UK on 5th May, 2016," the statement said.
Earlier SLC stated that Thirimanne would join the Sri Lanka squad shortly after his late inclusion in the Sri Lanka Test squad to UK.
"A delay has occurred in obtaining his visa to Ireland. It is expected that the Consulate of Ireland would issue the visa by tomorrow (May 5) and Thirimanne will join the Sri Lanka team shortly."
