Top contenders Ravindu Laksiri and Mihiliya Methsarani retained their titles in Men's and Women's categories respectively at the 37th National Squash Championship concluded at the Sugathadasa Squash Courts on Tuesday (19) evening.
Both Ravindu and Mihiliya claimed their fifth consecutive national championship wins at a National Squash Championship with Tuesday's achievement.
Ravindu beat Shamil Wakeel in the Men's Open final 3-1, after losing the first set and making a dramatic comeback to claim the following three sets.
The final score was 10/12, 11/1, 11/5 and 11/3 in favour of Ravindu.
In the Women's Open final Mihiliya overcame Fathoum Issadeen in straight sets 11/6, 11/6 and 11/10 to claim the title.
The 37th National Squash Championship was organised by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation and Sri Lanka Army contributed their fullest effort in conducting the tournament.
