Super T20: Milantha stars as Guardians thrash Warriors by 8 wickets

Opener Lahiru Milantha hammered 78 off 43 deliveries to help Galle Warriors record a commanding 8-wicket win against Kurunegala Warriors in the fourth game of the SLC Super Twenty20 Cricket Championship played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday (27). 

Electing to bat, Kurunegala Warriors were able to post 129-9 as Galle Guardians raced to victory shouldered by Milantha’s smashing knock with 21 deliveries to spare. 

Milantha hit seven sixes and five boundaries during his knock and was featured in a opening stand of 108 runs with Udara Jayasundera, who remained unbeaten on 39 off 43 balls with two fours. 

Chamara Kapugedara picked two wickets after top scoring for Warriors with a 16-ball 20 in a losing game. 

Ajantha Mendis picked two wickets for Guardians as Suraj Randiv, Dilhara Lokuhettige, Isuru Udana, Dushmantha Chameera and Jeffrey Vandersay claimed a wicket each.
