Super T20: Troopers thrash Crusaders by 7 wickets

Hambantota Troopers thrashed Kandy Crusaders by 7 wickets in the SLC Super Twenty20 Cricket Championship match played at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday (26).

Put into bat first Crusaders were restricted to 114-9 and Troopers raced to reach the wining target with 37 deliveries remaining. 

For Troopers, Ashan Priyanjan played a key role with an effective allround performance as he grabbed two wickets and returned to smash an unbeaten 27 off just 22 deliveries with three boundaries. 

Jehan Mubarak top scored for the winners with an unbeaten 30 which came off 27 deliveries, inclusive of two fours and a six. 

Seekkuge Prasanna, changing his role as an opener in the batting lineup, hit 25 off 16 deliveries inclusive of two fours and two sixes. 

For Crusaders skipper Lahiru Thirimanne top scored with 38 which came off 30 deliveries laced with two fours and two sixes. 

Besides spinner Priyanjan, pacemen Binura Fernando and Thilan Thushara picked two wickets each. 

On Wednesday two matches are scheduled to be played with Colombo Commandos and Hambantota Troopers playing each other followed by the game between Galle Guardians and Kurunegala Warriors.
