U-19 Cricket: International Schools Limited Over Tournament semi-finalists found

The International Schools Under-19 Limited Over Tournament has reached the last stages with the preliminary round matches and the quarter-finals being completed. 

The tournament saw the participation of 15 teams which were divided into four groups with four teams in each group with Colombo International School Kandy pulling out. 

The completion of the preliminary round matches saw three schools from Lyceum International coming out on top. 

They were Lyceum Wattala (Group A), Lyceum Panadura (Group B) and Lyceum Nugegoda (Group D) while Gateway College Colombo was the top team in Group C. 

Three teams Lyceum Wattala, Gateway Colombo and Lyceum Nugegoda ended their preliminary round campaign with an unbeaten record while Lyceum Panadura topped their group due to a better run rate. 

The four teams along with the runner from the four groups -- Asian International School Colombo, British School Colombo, Gateway College Kandy and Leeds International School Panadura advanced to the quarter-finals. 

Meanwhile in the quarter-finals played at the Health ground and Shalika ground saw the Lyceum IS teams and Asian IS qualifying to the semi-finals. 

Lyceum IS Nugegoda coasted to a comfortable 114 runs win over British School Colombo while Asian IS got the better of Gateway School Colombo by 28 runs at the Health grounds. 

In the other two quarter-finals played at the Shalika ground saw Lyceum IS Wattala who is the top contender recording a convincing 135 runs win over Gateway College Kandy and Lyceum IS Panadura overcoming Leeds IS Panadura by 70 runs.

At Health grounds: Lyceum Nugegoda beat British School by 114 runs 
Lyceum IS Nugegoda 167 in 29.5 overs (Shahina Walpola 41, Semindu Bandara 29, Nipuna Hettiarachchi 24: Stephan de Silva 4 for 33, Senuka Dharmakeerthi 2 for 32, Kavindu Subasinghe 2 for 34) 
British School Colombo 53 in 21.4 overs (Nipuna Hettiarachchi 2 for 3, Shihan Walpola 2 for 10, Kulitha Malkine 2 for 22) 

At Health grounds: Asian IS beat Gateway Colombo by 28 runs 
Asian International School Colombo 159 for 7 in 30 overs (Thiwanka Anthony 38, Shefaz Ahamed 37, Jach Udeshi 32: Yathidu Arangala 3 for 45, Haerron Ragulan 2 for 20) 
Gateway School Colombo 131 in 28.4 overs (Asker Amurdeen 26, Udam Munasinghe 20: Sanik Senanayake 4 for 22, Harshan Yogendra 2 for 20, Jach Udeshi 2 for 25) 

At Shalika: Lyceum Wattala beat Gateway Kandy by 135 runs 
Lyceum IS Wattala 223 for 9 in 30 overs (Sharmigan Sridaran 70, Shabiq Ishthariq 62, Chandima Yasasiri 41: Visitha Gihan 5 for 43, Dihan Samarasinghe 3 for 42) 
Gateway College Kandy 88 in 24 overs (Krishantha Amarasooriya 27: Abinesh Ravichandran 2 for 6, Gihan de Zoysa 2 for 6, Pavitha Lahabaduge 2 for 11) 

At Shalika: Lyceum Panadura beat Leeds Panadura by 70 runs 
Lyceum IS Panadura 161 in 30 overs (Shiran Liyanage 63: Malinda Prashan 4 for 25, Senushka Fernando 3 for 45) 
Leeds IS Panadura 91 in 21.2 overs (Vibhuda de Soysa 27: Isuru Perera 4 for 21)
