Davisamara Maha Vidyalaya, Seeduwa and Rathnapala Maha Vidyalaya, Mahauswewa emerged winners of the annual DSI Supersport Schools Volleyball Championships 2019, which ended in Youth Centre, Maharagama last week with DSI sponsoring event for the consecutive 19th year.
Davisamara MV, Seeduwa clinched the boys championships routing the Dhammissara National School, Nattandiya by straight sets 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.
Three players from Seeduwa School, Shehan Chamara, Dakshina Nimendra and Nadun Nisaditha were adjudged Best Passer, Best Attacker and Best Player respectively.
Rathanapala MV, Mahauswewa won the final in three sets to one after their opponents Anamaduwa Central College collapsed after winning the first set 25-20.
The Mahauswewa girls won the next three sets 25-18, 25-18 and 25-23.
Mahauswewa spikers, Sudeepa Dilmini became the Best Passer, Shakya Sewmini was adjudged the Best Attacker and Prithika Pramodani was crowned as the Best Player of the tournament.
