Dinesha Prasadani of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), will lead the Sri Lanka Women’s National Volleyball (VB) team for the 19th Asian Senior Women’s VB Championships to be held in the Philippines from August 9 to 17.
A notable feature is that, there are 7 players from the SL Army (SLA) in the squad of 12 along with 3 from the SLAF and 1 each from the SL Ports Authority (SLPA) and the SL Navy (SLN).
The squad was picked from a pool of 18.
There are 14 countries taking part in the event.
SL is in Group C with South Korea, Vietnam and New Zealand.
Group A- Philippines, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong.
Group B- Defending champions China, Japan, Australia.
Group D- Thailand, Taipei, Iran, Maldives.
In Round I, SL’s 1st match is on August 9 against Vietnam, the 2nd game on August 10 vs South Korea and the 3rd on August 11 against New Zealand.
