Area residents held a protest opposite the Hendala Leprosy Hospital this morning calling on authorities not to quarantine those coming from Coronavirus-hit countries at the hospital. The protesters briefly blocked the Hendala-Hekitta Road for vehicular traffic during the protest.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
