Education Ministry officials yesterday confirmed before the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing the Easter Sunday carnage that there were Islamic school textbooks which recommended killing those who turned against Islam.
Secretary to the Ministry of Education M. N. Ranasinghe sought permission before the PSC to summon Commissioner General of the Education Publications, Jayantha Wickramanayake, under whose purview those text books had been published. Captured is an xtract from the sittings.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
