Well done, IGP tells his officers

Police Chief Jayantha Wickremaratne

Police Chief Jayantha Wickremaratne yesterday praised his officers, saying their efforts had resulted in a peaceful and fair election in the North Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces.

Thanking them for a job well done, Inspector General Wickremaratne in a statement said the dedication with which his officers carried out their duty during the election campaign and on polls day was praiseworthy and they were able to dispel allegations made against the police.

He reminded his officers that preventing post-election violence and protecting law and order were equally important.
