Wallem Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd - joint venture between Wallem and Co., Hong Kong and Dev Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., Sri Lanka – was recently launched in Colombo.

A press release from the new company says this is an ideal opportunity for Sri Lankans aspiring for a professional training qualification and career at sea with the provision of invaluable international exposure, dealing with international commerce and transport and technical expertise. Wallem Lanka said it expects this joint venture to be mutually beneficial for Wallem’s and Dev Engineering by training and harnessing the best of seafarers in Sri Lanka.

Wallem & Co is the world’s oldest Ship Management Company, having been started in 1903 by Haakon ‘Typhoon’ Wallem in Shanghai.
