More Ceylinco ‘Pranama’ scholarships for Lanka’s future leaders

Bright students and young people who have excelled at national level in several fields of endeavour will be rewarded with scholarships at the eighth round of the ‘Ceylinco Pranama’ scholarships scheme of Ceylinco Life.

The company said more than 160 new scholarships will be on offer to applicants from the company’s policyholders in all districts of Sri Lanka. Ceylinco Life said it has commenced the collection of applications from eligible students across the island, and will close applications on November 30, 2008 for the next batch of annual scholarships to be presented at the BMICH in January 2009.

“As one of the leaders in the local business arena, we believe it is important to encourage future leaders, the talented youth, by providing them an incentive in the form of financial support towards their education. The Pranama scholarship scheme underscores the importance accorded by the company to education, which is one the key areas of intervention in our ‘Life Rewards’ programme,” Thushara Ranasinghe, Director at Ceylinco Life, was quoted as saying in the press release.

Applications for Pranama scholarships are available at Ceylinco Life branches island-wide. Ceylinco Pranama scholarships are presented to policyholders’ children who achieve the best results in their respective districts at the Year 5 scholarship examination, the GCE Ordinary Level, the GCE Advanced Level and to those who excel at the national level in sports, culture, arts, drama or invention.
