Match commentary in Tamil

For the first time, the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation yesterday gave a ball-by-ball live commentary in Tamil on the first Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the Galle stadium.

An official said the full-time Tamil commentary was being given on the directions of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Up to now, commentaries on international Test and one-day matches have been given in Sinhala and English, with a summary given in Tamil at breaks.
