From Continental Hotel to Times Square, New York

Ceylon Continental Hotel celebrated New Years with a unique themed party revolving around the dazzling lights and bustling energy of Time Square. Elements of New York could be seen in all areas of the hotel – the Ballroom, Foyer and the Garden Terrace area. Bright lights that rivaled the lights of Time Square itself were featured in and around the hall, amidst New York themed décor.

The buffet was a lavish spread of starters from soups and salads to a hearty variety of mains and sensational desserts. The guests were kept swinging to tunes played by the famous band Doctor led by Lanthra Perera and DJ Shiran kept the dance floor grooving to the beats of top dance, house and hip hop tracks all through the night. Faizal Bongso, the MC for the night kept the party entertained till dawn. There were many exciting competitions organized by the hotel from “King and Queen of the Night” who won a voucher for a hot air balloon safari for two.

The table of “Happy People” and “baila” competition winners received some great prizes as well. The guests were treated to a fabulous display of fireworks at the front lawn during the countdown to the New Year.

The print media partner for the event was Wijeya Newspaper and electronic media partner was Real Radio.
