Taprobane Tours and Sri Lanka Holidays this week marked 30 years of a continous business partnership with the national carrier, SriLankan Airlines.
The London-based travel company has been the airline's largest contributor both in volume of passenger traffic and finance since the revamped national carrier started operations on September 1, 1979 as Airlanka, the company said in a statement.
Airline sources said Taprobane Travels was the longest serving travel operator overseas dealing with the national airline. Over the past 30 years, the company has sent thousands of travellers, both British and Sri Lankan and for many years held the No. 1 spot for the Sri Lankan market in the UK. |
