The Czech Republic, a popular tourist destination in Europe and drawing a lot of business interests from all over the world, will play host to Pope Benedict XVI from September 26-28.
The visit to the Czech capital, Prague will include a visit to the Cathedral of St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert. The Czech Consulate in Colombo said the Pope will pay a special visit to venerate the Infant of Prague at the Church of Our Lady of Victory in Prague.
The population of Prague which currently stands at around 1.2 million, is home to people from many different cultures and backgrounds with a diverse mix of Eastern and Western European backgrounds.Prague draws a significant number of tourists during the summer.
The Consulate said Sri Lankans could also enjoy a visit to Prague with the necessar visas from the office of the Consul of the Czech Republic at No. 12 Queens Road, Colombo 3. |
