A new vocational training institute promises school leavers access to 'new age careers' in fields such as Aviation and Cabin Crew Management, Travel and Tourism, Retail Management and Hospitality Management via its status as preferred recruiter for airlines such as Emirates, Etihad, Kingfisher and Spice Jet and others as well as international hotel chains such as the Hyatt Regency.
Launched recently at Water's Edge, Battaramulla, and located at 280 High Level Road, Colombo 6, the Aspire Institute will be accepting admissions from students who have passed either their ordinary or advanced level examinations, who are over 16 years of age, and who successfully complete a round of written and personal interviews at the institute.
Aspire offers a variety of qualifications from entry level certificates, at the completion of 90 hours of instruction, to advanced professional diplomas, requiring 18 months of training.
Further, the institute offers Higher National Diplomas, said to be equivalent to a two-year university programmes, in partnership with Edexcel, according to institute Director, Deepak Khullar.
He also added that programmes could be offered at a low cost to students because of efforts to keep overheads low. |
