Sri Lanka has been chosen as the outsourcing destination for software development for anti-spy ware pioneer LavaSoft, most recently based in Sweden.
Comprising 'over 4,000 partners in 120 countries' and 'over 350 million downloads worldwide for flagship Ad-Aware product' to date, the company was initially reported to have been searching South Asia for 'a country with high skills and an ethical workfoce' to which it could move its offshore software development activities. After which, it settled on Sri Lanka.
Ultimately, it was local custom software engineer Eurocenter DDC that proved to be LavaSoft's preference from eight possible candidates said to be vying for its business, a decision made following an exhaustive 'study tour to Sri Lanka' by LavaSoft executives who evaluated all prospects on the basis of 'competence, quality and delivery track record'.
Further, according to Mano Sekaram, Chief Executive of Eurocenter DDC, “Sri Lanka is fast becoming a destination of choice to global companies to outsource software services". |
