LOLC IT arm earns ISO information security certificate

A subsidiary of Sri Lanka's LOLC Group recently earned "ISO/IEC 27001:2005" certification for its enterprise data and software development functions, which signify adequate protection for 'information assets'.

The company, Lanka Orix Information Technology, further indicated in a statement that, while it specialized in leasing and loan management systems, banking and insurance applications and business intelligence solution; it mainly served as "provider of ICT solutions and services to LOLC group companies".

According to the group's Chief Executive, Kapila Jayawardena, this certificate “demonstrates our commitment towards effective implementation of information security, governance and compliance across the organization. Further it shows the commitment we have in reducing operational risk".
