ITF Junior Tennis from Oct 5 - 18

The ITF Junior Circuit Week 1 and 2 Tennis Tournament will commence from 5 to 18 October, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association.

Sri Lanka will be represented by, Amreetha Muttiah, Kemalie Herath, Sheren Wijesinghe, Shankari Thayakaran and Nilushi Fernando. There opponents will be players from India, Thailand, Mauritius, USA, IRAN, Korea, Pakistan, China and the Philippines.

The total number of entries for the tournament is 88 out of which 32 entries have been received in the girl’s category.

Amreetha Muthiah is the bottom seed ranked at 661 and Zainab Ali Sajjad is the top seed in the Girl’s category i.e. ITF rank 491 followed by Tarranum Handa ranked 698 and Parminder Kaur ranked 777.
In the girl’s category 21 players have been accepted to the Qualifying Round from India, Thailand, and China.

As for the boy’s category, 56 entries have been received with Thangarajah Dineshkanthan of Sri Lanka, ranked 780 is the 4th seed.

Sidharth Sivakumar (ITF Rank 362) will be the highest ranked player at the tournament followed by top ranked players like Zhaoyi Cao – rank 552 (China) Junnan Tai – rank 617 (China).

Week 1 will start on 5 Oct and finish on 11 Oct while Week 2 will start on 12 Oct and finish on 18 Oct.
The qualifying draw for the week 1 tournament will be on the 2nd Oct, and the main draw will be on the 4th Oct. And for Week 2 the qualifying draw will be on the 9th and the main draw on the 11th Oct
The Tournament Referee will be Ms. Ishara Seneviratne (ITF white Badge) and the Tournament Director is Irshard Othman.
