The organization's primary goal is to support students to achieve their dream of obtaining a world class higher education; as such they assist the students in finding a suitable course, university or educational institution that would best serve their educational requirement. "If the student has obtained good A/L results he or she will have direct entry into the university, but if it is not so, the student has to look at an educational package. Their educational journey will have to start with a diploma which will give them access and lay the foundation for them to complete their higher education abroad," Mr. M.D.H Fernando said.
Visa requirements need to be looked into says Mr. Fernando adding "visa requirements for Australia and New Zealand are somewhat different. For entry to Australia the student must sit for the IELTS examination and have a minimum score of 5, however the IELTS minimum score that universities require can differ from each other. If the student doesn't have the required IELTS score he or she has to follow a short English course, to increase their English proficiency prior to their stint at the selected university."New Zealand needs a minimum of an I.E.L.T.S score of 5.5. or higher.
Elaborating on the pre departure process and requirements he noted "once the initial visa formalities are over and done with, the Australian High Commission will submit the pre visa assessment (PVA). When considering the tuition fees, the student is required to pay the 1st semester tuition fees in full. In most instances, some institutions offer discounts when 01 year fees is paid upfront. Students have the choice of paying for one semester and for their one year health cover instead of paying the amount in full. Subsequent to the payment of tuition fees, the conformation of enrolment or COE is issued and the student can get their visa endorsed for the full period of their studies."

ANZEC which offers a multitude of services to students carries out regular pre departure briefings which bring together the students and their parents. The session offers students constructive advice on how to successfully begin their higher educational journey abroad. Most often student representatives from different universities attend these pre departure sessions.
Mr.Fernando added "We also arrange accommodation for the student through the university when a request is made. Furthermore, if the parent requires regular reports about their child's progress ANZEC works together with the university to provide the parent the necessary information as and when required."
