The Commerce Union of Wesley College will hold their Commerce Day 2009 on November 12 at 2.30 pm in the school main hall. The Commerce Day at Wesley has always been an event which was looked upon highly by other schools in the Greater Colombo area. All participating schools are given a great social and learning experience at this event.
This event helps to bring out intellectual talents and the aesthetic side of the students of the commerce and arts sections. They put in their very best to make this event a success. It is heartening to know that students from other schools have given positive feedback on the Wesley Commerce Day in previous years. The Commerce Union also organized an inter-school quiz competition which was a big success. Eighteen schools participated in this event which helped to upgrade the standard of the school unions and showcased the inherent capabilities of students.
Mr. Dilshan Perera has served the Commerce Union as Master in Charge for over 15 years. He has always encouraged the students and has been the backbone of Wesley College Commerce Union. His valuable guidance has been the key to organize many successful commerce events. The Principal Dr. Shanti Mclelland and Vice principal Rev. Shihan Fernando have given their fullest co-operation and guidance for the betterment of the students, the Commerce Union and the school at large. The students are fortunate to have their valuable guidance to make the event a success.
The current Commerce Union President Manoj Kularatne, Secretary Raveen Perera, Treasurer Nishan Siriwardane and their fellow committee members have committed their time and effort from the inception to organize this event.
