In a case filed by the MBSL Insurance Company against the Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee claiming Rs. 300 million as damages, the Commercial High Court of Colombo allowed the application and granted time till February 2010 to file answer.
The MBSL cited Interim Committee President D.S. De Silva, Secretary Nishantha Ranatunge, Treasurer Sujeewa Rajapakse, Messrs. Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Ranil Abeynaike, Sidath Wettimuny and Mahesh Gunathilake, all of the Interim Committee as respondents.
As summons has not been served on the 6th respondent, Court ordered to re-issue summons to the 6th defendant returnable on February 15.
As summons has been duly served on the 5th respondent Ranil Abeynaike and as he was absent and unrepresented, plaintiff’s counsel G.G. Arulpragasam made an application to Court to fix this case for ex-parte trial. |
