Global Environmental Youth Education Foundation is the pioneer in Popularising Indian University education among Sri Lankan students.
This is the brainchild of its founder, and the Director General, Mr.G.A.W.G.Galgamuwa ( Ex Lieutenant VNF / former Director Foreign affairs, National Youth Services Council). Not for profit, not for Charity but for Services being his motto, and a firm believer that an educated youth is an asset to the family, country and the world. The first batch of students proceeded to Bangalore in the year 1994. Since then 2900 Sri Lankan students have graduated.
Partial Scholarship placements
Two faculties affiliated to the University of Mangalore, have offered 50 partial scholarship placements for Sri Lankan students at a cost between 2 Lakhs to 3 Lakhs (excluding board and lodging).

Medical Degrees
GEYEF was the first to introduce the Medical degree BSc. Audiology and Speech Language Pathology to Sri Lankan students. Most of the graduates have gone to other countries on scholarships for their Postgraduates. Today four of our graduates are working as lectures at the Ragama Medical Faculty and Children's Hospital, Kandy. Few of them have completed their Ph.D. in USA.

GEYEF now admits students mainly to the above colleges and few others in Bangalore. Indian Academy is the only college that has been endorsed by NAAC as A Graded with CGPA 3.09. Another achievement of that college is, one of its student won the gold medal and ranked first for Microbiology in Bangalore.
Inauguration of the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates of Indian Universities was a historic event. The Assistant High Commissioner for India in Sri Lanka His Excellency Mr. Achal K. Malhotra and the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Prof. B.R.R.N.Mendis jointly inaugurated the association on June 30 2001 at Queens Hotel, Kandy.
Services Accorded since 1994
1. EDU- TOURISM - Sponsored a government programme with the assistance of Indian colleges to organise a workshop for 38 Principals and the Secretary, in Bangalore.
Few colleges such as T John, Indian Academy, Bangalore City College and Reva assisted in this regard. A similar programme was implemented very recently for the Postgraduate Diploma in HRD graduates at the Kelaniya Campus.
2. Organises career guidance programmes and guest lectures for students. Recently GEYEF and KALYANA -SLICA - Kandy, organised a guest lecture on " Science Related Field of Studies to Meet the Challenges of future" .the Guest speaker was Dr. T Somasekhar from university of Bangalore.
