NEXT - retains leadership in CIM education |
NEXT School of Business, recorded a student base of over 500 for the December 2009 examination thereby maintaining its position of leadership as the largest Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM U.K.) study centre in Sri Lanka.
NEXT was successful in introducing the new CIM syllabus for stage I and completed the second successful batch in May 2009. The repeated record enrolments are proof of the trust and confidence placed in NEXT as their first choice for CIM education, by both parents and students. The practical nature of the new syllabus is complimentary to the skills of the lecture panel at NEXT.
Publications for all four subjects and assignment guidelines for the two assignment based subjects have been developed to assist students.
The new intake for assessments in 2010 is now open to students for weekend and weekday evening classes to accommodate the large numbers expected as in previous sessions. NEXT School of Business ventured into conducting four academic sessions per year to allow students to fast track their studies thereby ensuring flexibility.
NEXT has been the pioneer in adapting to the new syllabus for stage 1 with close connections with CIM - UK and leading UK study centres. It secured two Sri Lankan prizes for Essentials of Marketing (EM) and Marketing Information and Research (MIR). They have an easy to follow step by step guideline for assignment based subjects and a special revision programme for exam based subjects to ensure high pass rates. Students have the option of following the old syllabus or the new syllabus and completing Stages 2 & 3.
Considering the high demand for MRI and MMIP subjects based on requests made by stage 2 students who have already completed two subjects, will be continued while conducting the new syllabus for stage 2. The lecture panel consists of MBA qualified senior marketers in local and multi-national companies holding CEO and CMO positions. As the current assessment structure of CIM places significant emphasis on practical application of theory in various real life corporate situations, students gain a distinctive advantage when they learn from industry practitioners. The key competitive advantage of NEXT is its expert panel of lecturers who are marketing professionals with years of hands-on practical experience at senior Management levels in addition to a proven track record of producing exceptional exam results. The lecture panel consists of Dusty Alahakoon, Head of Marketing, Coca Cola Beverages Sri Lanka Ltd.; Bertram Paul, General Manager - Sales & Marketing, Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC; Ravi Jayawardena, CEO - Sales & Marketing, Maliban Biscuit Manufacturing; and Tharanga Gunasekera, Marketing Manager, Personal Financial Services HSBC Sri Lanka; to name a few.
NEXT's job bank also provides exclusive access to the best available employment opportunities in the industry. NEXT School of Business has a state-of-the-art modern learning facility conveniently located at Havelock Road in a 5-storeyed, air-conditioned building, with a library and a computer laboratory for the benefit of students. It was started by a group of professionals with a passion for enhancing and developing talent among students and business professionals and has within a short time span become the undisputed leader in Chartered Institute of Marketing UK (CIM) education in Sri Lanka and retained its leadership position over successive student intakes. |
