ACBT primed for 2010 with latest intake
Enrolment for March now on in Colombo and Kandy

The Australian Institute of Business and Technology has opened its doors to fresh faces for its first intake of 2010, a year that promises to be a groundbreaking one for the institute. With its Colombo campus, acbt currently boasts the highest intakes in the industry, and its recently opened Kandy college promises to be not far behind.

Acbt is recognized for its pioneering work in providing an internationally-accepted route to a degree for thousands of students through its University Foundation Course, which is accepted as a substitute for A/levels. The institute prides itself in being the market leader as a pathway to international education in Sri Lanka. Much of its reputation is derived from acbt's credentials as an integral part of a global educational tradition recognized by none other than the Australian government.

The secret behind acbt's continual success in drawing the highest enrolments is rooted in the enrolment and academic structure of the institution. Students can start an internationally-recognized Australian degree immediately following their Ordinary Level examinations by doing the University Foundation Programme (UFP). Recognized as an equivalent to the A/L, the UFP can be completed in 8-12 months compared to the two years or more consumed by the A/L.

Furthermore, as students can enrol with pending O/L results, the waiting period too can be time well spent. In its entirety, this innovative structure allows students to effectively fast-track their education and thereby, their future.

"We live in fast-paced times. Today, you often find that if you spend too much time in education, the industry has developed beyond what you've learned. At acbt, we endeavour to afford students a higher education that is accepted the world over in minimum time," says Sudash Liyanage, Marketing Manager of acbt. "Acbt degrees are engineered to transform young students through textual and experiential knowledge into well geared professionals with excellent potential in their chosen fields."

"The quality of a degree should be world-class so that employment opportunities will be maximized," he continues. "Employability doesn't come with mere understanding of the chosen stream but the necessary life-skills that give students an edge to succeed in any business environment. At acbt, the development of those skills is given as much priority as the course content."

Students who have completed their A/L can join the degree programme directly if they have two passes in core subjects and two Credit (C) passes for Mathematics and English. Even the students who have been unable to get through their A/L can join the Business and IT Diploma Programmes, which are the first year of the ECU degrees, with their O/L results and after completing the University Foundation Programme (UFP). Acbt also offers the opportunity for working students to study part-time.

At acbt, the degrees speak for themselves as the content and structure of the courses are founded on Edith Cowan University. Acbt students are awarded full, globally recognized ECU degrees in Sri Lanka.
They also have the opportunity to transfer to ECU at any stage of their studies after completing the first year. In fact, as acbt is recognized by the Australian Government, students can transfer straight from acbt to any of the many universities in Australia. At acbt, the degrees are offered at 1/5th of the cost overseas, and payments can be made in monthly instalments.

The new Kandy College offers a range of higher education options that provide a greater breadth of globally-accepted and affordable educational opportunities for students in the region. Students can pursue diplomas as well as the University Foundation Programme at the Kandy College, and a special point to note is acbt's endeavours to support its students in Kandy with English language training through custom designed step-up courses that prepare them for higher education.
