Do you consider the O/L exam as just another hurdle to jump over as you progress towards your A/L qualification and entry into state university? If so, go right ahead. What if you chose to start your IT qualification earlier? I'm not saying that you shouldn't do A/Ls. Degree Programmes
At present, ESOFT offers a total of three Degree Programmes, namely, the British Computer Society (BCS) HEQ Professional Examinations in IT, and the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) Degrees of the University of Colombo and the University of Moratuwa. We are the largest course provider with the largest student base for BCS and BIT in Sri Lanka and have a total of eleven locations island wide.
When considering both Degree Programmes ESOFT is most probably the largest trainer of ICT undergraduates in Sri Lanka. You can enrol for any of the two following programmes right after O/Ls and study either in part time or full time mode.
British Computer Society HEQ (Higher Education Qualification) in IT
We offer this as a full time Degree programme under the designation of BCS-Plus. The course is conducted full time, on all weekdays and covers the BCS subjects as well as additional modules including SCJP, MCTS, CCNA, Web Designing, Hardware and Networking, and more. The exams can be completed in 18 to 20 months and thereby provides a fast track to gainful employment or entrance into a Master's Programme such as an M.Sc or MBA.
ESOFT's students have created history many times over by walking away with most of the Sri Lankan and World Prizes offered by the BCS since 2006.
A less demanding version of this programme is also available in part time mode.
Bachelor of Information Technology
(BIT) - University of Colombo
We have been conducting classes for the BIT Degree since 2001 and producing some of the finest results. We have produced 1st class graduates including Gold medalists for being batch tops.
BIT is available as a part time programme, and we have introduced a more industry oriented version by the name of the BIT-Plus fulltime programme which is offered on weekdays and weekends as a three year Degree programme with additional subjects for value addition such as SCJP and CCNA.
All examinations are conducted by the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) and the final Degree is also conferred by them.Prospective students should first face an interview before being selected into the programme. Those with O/Ls only will need to complete the Foundation level programme known as FIT.
