Dankotuwa Porcelain reported a net loss of Rs.16.8 million for the quarter ending 31 March 2010 with turnover and gross profit decreasing by 9% and 37% for the period. According to the company’s income statement released this week, the net profit for the period under review declined by 13,619% when compared to the corresponding period in 2009.
Revenue for the current period was Rs.288.7 million in comparison to Rs.317 million for the same period in 2009. Gross profit was reported at Rs.57 million, lower than Rs.97 million last year. The income statement also shows that distribution costs and finance expenses decreased by 28% and 45% respectively while administrative expenses increased by 7%.
The company list of export markets includes Colombia, the Czech Republic, Dubai, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Norway, Oman and Poland. Also included were Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, the United States and Ukraine. |
