The Sri Lankan office of globally dominant software company Microsoft recently held the local launch of the most recent incarnation of one of its most well-known product lines - "Office 2010". Billing the improvements to its "Word", "Excel", "Powerpoint" and "Outlook" applications as "radical", the company's statement indicated that "Office 2010" is currently being utilised by 8.6 million users internationally as a result of its beta testing.
Further, the company suggested that the software allows "employees the power to take on more and produce better results without having to re-learn completely new software from the basics, the adoption time is also effectively minimized to the bare necessity".
Meanwhile, other benefits include "features like broadcast slide show, linked notes and co-authoring allow for quick sharing of information and a truly enhanced ability to work independently, while still maintaining a cohesive overall company view". Also, this product has so far been released in 14 languages while plans in place will eventually take it to 94 languages. |
