The Sri Lankan office of leading international processor manufacturer Intel this week weighed in positively on recent reductions to import duties on electronic items that had received widespread media attention.
According to statement by Intel's Country Business Manager for Sri Lanka, Indika De Zoysa, "the decision of the Government of Sri Lanka to reduce import duties on electronic goods by approximately 3.5%, thereby bringing down taxes on CPUs [will] result in the reduction of prices of PCs in the local market, which in turn will lead to greater accessibility and affordability of computers for citizens". |
