The local office of UAE-based mobile operator Etisalat and Sri Lankan developer hSenid Mobile recently partnered to launch a web-based mobile application development platform, www.appzone.lk. Etisalat said this development was also first reported, prior to the website's launch, in a news story about the m-billionth awards which appeared in this month's Business Times (June 6).
Further, again according to Etisalat's statement, this website will allow "Sri Lankan mobile application developers to create, test and sell their own unique applications". It will also include an online store, called "APP ZONE", where mobile applications can be traded for payment or otherwise. The statement also indicates that "[school] kids, university students, freelancers, professionals and software development companies" are some of groups anticipated to be interested in this website. |
