Kurunegala official still to be appointed

Development work in Kurunegala district has been at standstill for more than a year. The reason – the Kurunegala District Coordinating Committee lacks a co-chairman.

The previous co-chairmen were North-West Province Chief Minister Athula Wijesinghe and Minister S. B. Nawinna. It is understood that the next co-chairman will be Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister, Johnston Fernando.

Kurunegala District Secretary Kusum Hettige said she has received no nominations for the post of co-chairman.
