The passing out of 38 Navigation Cadets, 35 Engineer Cadets and 61 Diploma award winners of the CINEC Maritime Campus, Malabe, Sri Lanka, was held at the Klaus E Oldendorff Auditorium of the campus on Friday 20th August 2010, presided by the Chancellor of CINEC Prof. (Dr) K. P. Mukherjee, who is also the Vice President (Research) of World Maritime University, Sweden. Chief Guest at the occasion was S. B. Dissanayake, Minister of Higher Education Sri Lanka.
The Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College, known as CINEC nestles in the picturesque suburb of Malabe. Established in 1990, CINEC bears the unique distinction of having won four distinctive quality awards: ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Standards, ISO 14001 Environmental Standards, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Standards and, DNV Maritime Academy Standards which speak loud and assure the superb quality standards of the scholars/professionals produced at CINEC.

There are four faculties at CINEC. The Faculty of Maritime Sciences offers courses in Navigation, Maritime Safety and Survival and Marine Communication.
The Faculty of Marine Engineering offer courses in Marine Engineering, Marine Electrical and Electronics and Industrial Engineering. The Faculty of Engineering Sciences offer courses in Electronics and Communication, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automotive Systems and Engineering Design Management as well as Ocean Engineering, Marine and Offshore Systems Engineering and Naval Architecture.
The Faculty of Management offers courses in International Transportation and Logistics which paves the way for students to secure highly desirable positions of employment, locally as well as internationally, in fields of Logistics, Transportation, Freight Forwarding, International Trade, Warehouse Management and Supply Chain Management.
In addition to a number of professional courses that it provides, CINEC also provides programmes of studies from Certificate Level to Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Degrees that are most sought after amongst the students. |
