Sri Lanka Telecom introduces SLT QuickMeet

SLT QuickMeet, an audio conferencing service, enabling business meetings through teleconferencing facilities, has been launched, the national telco operator said in a press release. The traditional audio conferencing services require calls to originate from the person conducting the meeting. SLT QuickMeet provides participants with access codes that allow participants to ‘call-in’ and join the meeting, said SLT.

The SLT QuickMeet facility is available in two categories – On-demand and Scheduled. The On-demand option allows a person to host a teleconference with a fixed set of people who are provided with fixed access codes. The participants can be informed of the date and time of the meeting via sms or email, and the meeting will begin the minute the participants dial-in the call up number.

The Scheduled option on the other hand, provides access codes for the participants which will be valid only for a single meeting. Thus the host will enjoy the flexibility of teleconferencing with any number of people at a time. SLT is offering four diffrent packages for the QuickMeet facility depending on the number of participants for a meeting.

Several key features are available for SLT QuickMeet users, including introductions of all participants at a meeting and locking a meeting to prevent other persons from gaining access. Automatic announcement of participants as they enter or leave a meeting is available and meetings can be recorded and later downloaded by the host.

The SLT QuickMeet facility saves on the time and expense of physically travelling from one location to another, and also enables local, regional or even global conferences and multiple meetings, said SLT.
