Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) cum Chairperson of the New Zealand Securities Commission Jane Diplock will be in Sri Lanka next week, where she'll be meeting officials of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) and brief them on the current progress of IOSCO in respect of setting global regulatory standards. She is also scheduled to address the broking community and corporate sector of Sri Lanka on Corporate Governance and Ethics, a SEC statement said.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) will be joining the SEC to host a breakfast meeting for Ms. Diplock on September 29. Ms Diplock was appointed as the chairperson of the New Zealand Securities Commission in 2001 and also took up position to head the executive committee of the IOSCO. She is a member of the Financial Crisis Advisory Group setup in December 2008 by the International Accounting Standards Board and the United States Financial Accounting Standards Board.
She also heads the steering committee setup by the Prince of Wales to establish an International Integrated Reporting Committee which will develop a financial reporting model to support the information needs of long-term investors and sustainable investment. |
