‘Taste of Sumatra’ at Cinnamon Lakeside

Taste of Sumathra’, an Indonesian food festival, will come alive at the Cinnamon Lakeside from 19 to 28 October. Two Chefs’ from Sumatra will travel to Sri Lanka to deliver a taste of Indonesian cuisine every evening at the Dining Room Restaurant from 7.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. for 10 consecutive days. ’Taste of Sumathra’ comes In collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.

Sumatran food is essentially spicy with generous quantities of chilli, lemongrass, ginger, garlic and coriander combining to form a tempting array of dishes. In fact the spiciest food in Indonesia comes from Padang in West Sumatra where the popular dish Rendang originated.

During this promotion, five dancers are being flown in to Sri Lanka courtesy the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia who will entertain the guests while they dine. Indonesian dance is traditionally a reflection of mythical tales that have been passed down generations. The dancers are adorned with intricate gold accessories, colourful costumes and move with grace.

The entire experience is available to guests at just Rs. 1,400/-+++. Due to the limited time period of the offer, it is advisable to make a prior reservation on 2491930.
