Sri Lanka's American Alumni Association (AAA) is organizing "Back to College 2010," an event that will feature music, games and company to evoke memories of the attendees' college days in the United States. A DJ will be spinning American tunes and raffle prizes will be drawn for "Made in America" prizes.
The host committee promises a fun-filled evening, permeating with nostalgia. "Most importantly," said Sampath Paranavitane, President American Alumni Association, "the event will be for a good cause. All proceeds are in aid of 'A Room To Read', a CSR project that will build a library at a needy school in Tissamaharama for the use of underprivileged children, seeking to educate themselves".
It will be a great opportunity for American Alumni to mingle and to reminisce on their shared experiences. Guests are encouraged to wear their college ties and caps, or anything reminiscent of college days. Although this event is geared towards American alumni, all who would like to celebrate the American spirit and support a good cause are welcome.
The cover charge for the event is Rupees 1000 and will include a buffet and welcome drinks. A cash bar will also be available. |
